Management and disposal of Glasgow City Council’s non-operational land and property assets

Once Glasgow City Council (GCC) declare land or property surplus, City Property are instructed as Agent to manage and dispose of these assets on behalf of GCC. City Property provide the specialist advice based upon their market knowledge and intelligence to ascertain the most appropriate marketing strategy.  

Marketing and disposal of surplus property assets

Our Valuation and Disposals team is responsible for the marketing of surplus land and property assets owned by GCC. The method for the disposal of land or property is assessed and determined on a case-by-case basis and issues relating to the asset, including social, environmental and economic benefits as well as legal issues are taken into account when determining the method of disposal.

The subsequent property and land disposals provide an invaluable source of capital income which supports the delivery of GCC’s capital programme.
